DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Departure. Overnight flight to Prague.
Day 2: Prague (CZE). This afternoon we take a guided coach tour through Prague. See Prague's Hradcany Castle, Wenceslas Square, St. Nicholas church, Dancing House. After a ride to our hotel we enjoy a Welcome Dinner of Czech specialties in the evening. (WD)
Day 3: Pilsen (CZE), Nuremberg (GER). This morning you visit famous Czech brewery Pilsner Urquell, which gave Pilsener beer its name. Then head to south to Nuremberg. During the break you are free to walk through the historic center. Why not to see Imperial Castle and Frauenkirche? Then we continue to St. Gallen. We arrive to our hotel late at night. (B)
Day 4: St. Gallen (SUI). Today we do sightseeing including UNESCO listed St. Gallen's Cathedral, historical streets with magnificent antique houses from 16th century and antique Monastery Library. The rest of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 5: Vaduz (LICH), St.Gallen (SUI). Today we visit the capital of Liechtenstein's principality, Vaduz. We take an orientation tour to see the most important sights and visit famous Art Museum to see valuable prince's family's collection of pictures. The evening is free in St. Gallen. (B, D)
Day 6: Rheinfalls, Zurich (SUI). We head to west through a wonderful landscape to see an exiting view of the Rheinfalls. Then we visit Zurich. We take a guided orientation tour to see the old town, cathedral, Town Hall, visit Swiss National Museum. (B)
Day 7: Augusta Raurica, Basel (SUI). This morning we visit Augusta Raurica, the Roman town on the Rhine. About 20 000 people lived here 1800 year ago. Today a unique archeological open-air museum presents many sites to see, among them the well preserved classical theater north of the Alps. In Basel our guided tour takes you to picturesque gothic sections of the town with magnificent fountains, market square in front of the imposing Town Hall and the Spalentor gate, the most beautiful in Switzerland. The rest of day is free. (B)
Day 8: Basel (SUI). Today we visit a Fine Arts Museum. It really is a must. Admire approximately 3000 paintings from Old Masters to the Moderns, including Picasso. In the evening we go by coach to the meeting place of three nations. (B)
Day 9: La Chaux-de-Fonds, Geneva (SUI). We head through majestic mountains to Neuchatel region, traditionally a center of the watchmaking industry. Visit an outstanding Museum of Horology with a collection over 4000 pieces, from the sundial to the atomic clock. In the afternoon we take a walk along Geneva Lake. See the famous symbol of this city Jet d'Eau water fountain, Flower Clock, The Niton Stones and beautiful gardens. After a dinner we go to an orientation coach tour around Geneva. (B,D)
Day 10: Geneva (SUI). This morning we explore the Old Town. The rest of the day is yours. (B)
Day 11: Geneva Lake (SUI). Enjoy an all day beautiful cruise by steamer. From the lake, see all the famous places along the Swiss and French shores: Yvoire, Evian, Lausanne, the Lavaux vineyard and Montreux. We stop to visit the castle of Chillon. (B)
Day 12: Bulle, Bern (SUI). Today we head to Bern with a stop in a small town Bulle to purchase some famous cheeses from this region. The bear is a heraldic animal of the Switzerland's capital, Bern. We visit the Bear Pits and see the best view of the city from the Rose Garden. Then accompanied by a local guide we explore attractive Old Town, see delightful arcades and fountains, visit imposing Cathedral, and the Clock Tower. The rest of the day is yours. (B)
Day 13: Bern, Jungfraujoch (SUI). From Lauterbrunnen we travel by cogwheel rail via Wengen to the Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe", the highest railway station in Europe. See superb Alpine and glacier views and tour of the Ice Palace. Return trip via the glacier village of Grindelwald. (B, D)
Day 14: Bern, Lucerne (SUI). Today you have free time to enjoy Bern on your own. Then we head to Lucerne, a charming city ringed by old stone defensive walls and lined with cobbled streets connected by a covered wooden bridges. You may wish to join the optional Swiss folklore show tonight. (B)
Day 15: Lucerne (SUI). With a qualified local guide we walk through the city. See the Chapel Bridge dates from 1333 with its gabled paintings, renaissance Town Hall, Old City squares and the famous Lion Monument. In the afternoon you have a great opportunity to visit the Europe's largest transport museum. Half a day is not enough to see all exhibitions, demonstrations and audiovisual shows. Witness all means of transportation, tourism, from origin to future. (B)
Day 16: Lucerne, Mt. Pilatus (SUI). This morning we visit the fascinating Mount Pilatus (7000 ft), one of the highlights of Central Switzerland. Enjoy fabulous views from the cable car on your trip to the summit. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Day 17: Three Passes (SUI). In the early morning we go to Andermatt to tour the Three Passes Road. You won't forget the spectacular view of Futkapass, Gletch with the glacier Rhonegletscher, Grimselpass and Sustenpass. (B)
Day 18: Switzerland to Czech Republic, Munich (GER). We head through a magnificent Alpine landscapes to the north. We stop in Munich to take a rest and see Marienplatz, St. Peter's church, 43-bell Glockenspiel in the 19th century New Town Hall. In the evening we arrive in the Czech Republic. (B,D)
Day 19: Cesky Krumlov (CZE). This morning we visit beautiful Cesky Krumlov Castle and walk through charming streets of this UNESCO listed renaissance city. After a lunch we head to Prague and the rest of the day is yours. (B,L)
Day 20: Prague (CZE). On today's guided tour we visit Prague's Hradcany Castle, famous Golden Lane, St. Vitus Cathedral. Our qualified Bohemian guide show us magnificent Hradcany Panorama from Charles Bridge, Old Town Townhall (1364) with the Astronomical Clock and Wenceslas Square. In the evening we enjoy a farewell dinner (B, FD)
Day 21: Prague / RETURN HOME. Your flight departs for your return home. (B)
